I am Polish National Catholic and many of our churches (except new ones) contain a reredos. I have noticed that in these parishes, the small alcove directly above the tabernacle that contains the gold crucifix rotates to reveal the monstrance. I have seen parishes where it is simply brought out of the sacristy. I have been in few roman catholic churches that contain a reredos and never for exposition. Are/were there any roman catholic churches that contain this sort of “lazy susan” or perhaps was it an invention of the poles in Scranton, Pennsylvania?
