Just got EWTN on satellite in the last few weeks, but the program guide on the TV does not always agree with the EWTN program guide I pick up at church, nor with the program being broadcast at the time. Sometimes all 3 are different. I noticed a lot of reruns when I first started watching, but that was in the summer, now I still see reruns. I can understand that something might be re-broadcast later in the week at different times to reach more people, but some of these are current event or news style shows that cover topics from several weeks or months ago, and others are call-in shows, and I have learned I can’t call in because the show is weeks or months old. I see also that since Mother is apparently not able to film new episodes, some of her best stuff is shown as reruns. But its seems lately almost everything I come across is a rerun. Can someone help me navigate the EWTN program schedule? Thanks.

i have EWTN too and they rerun programs for the whole week. I think the week starts on Wednesday. I never had a problem with the program guide listed on the Dish satellite

The Mass is recorded in the early AM and rebroadcast a couple times throughout the day.

The 8-9 p.m. (eastern) time slot weekdays is usually live, with rebroadcasts of these shows at least one more time before their next airing.

10 p.m (eastern) Monday Johnette Benkovic seems to be a fresh program if not live, Tuesday Fr. Pacwa Threshold of Hope is live, too. You’re right. There’s a lot of re-broadcasting, re-cycling of shows. They’re big on tape recording. But, that’s good, too.

Fr. Benedict Groeschel is supposed to be live at 7 p.m. on Sundays (eastern). New show, think it debuts on 10/24.

Also watch the time zone differences. EWTN TV is eastern time.

EWTN is great in offering both live and replay programs.

Production costs are very high of course and the replays help people to catch up with good programming that they may have missed.

Some of their programming is from non-Catholic sources.
