Hello. Currently, I am in my junior year in College and i’am now writing my thesis.
Yesterday, it happens to be my thesis title defense but my topic got deferred. The members of the panel told my that my topic entitled: Correlation between Sexual Attitude and Shame and Guilt of the Augustinian Contemplative Nuns of Mother of Good Counsel Monastery in Bulacan is very sensitive and highly contromversial and itould be difficult for. Me to make the nuns participate in my study. Since proposed topic was rejected, I am asking for your help to pls help me think of a noble and significant study with the religious sisters as my respondents. I am really interested in pursuing a research related to htm thank you. By the way I study psychology

I don’t off-hand have any suggestions for another thesis involving religious sisters, but I’m curious how you came to the initial topic.

First, you’re an undergraduate, so don’t take it too seriously.

Secondly, if you really want to work with nuns (and I’m not really sure how you’re going to get contemplative nuns to respond, but I digress), why not see what Myers-Briggs type is the most prevalent with certain types of orders (contemplative vs more active); maybe compare the complexity of their admission questionnaire with happiness or something similar to a study where they compared the initial writings with the likelihood of having Alzheimer’s disease later in life.

Your title “Sexual Attitude and Shame and Guilt of the Augustinian Contemplative Nuns of Mother of Good Counsel Monastery in Bulacan” seems as if it already has the answer to the research. Why not do the research first, and then see if there is an actual link between sexual attitudes and shame/guilt among nuns. Maybe there is no connection. Maybe there is no shame/guilt among nuns. Maybe just title the project: “Sexual Attitudes among Augustinian Contemplative Nuns of Mother of Good Counsel Monastery in Bulacan.” Don’t decide your conclusion before you even start the research project!!

It is doubtful if you will be successful in gaining permission from contemplative nuns to study their sexual attitudes. It is highly unlikely they would co-operate with anything you suggest. Why not " Dress codes of Bars and Taverns across the country in relationship to alcohol consumption and happiness indicators." This is the sort of undergraduate psychological research carried out at my alma mater. Take your supervisor with you and you will do well.

Their admission testing is probably confidential. Maybe the only access will personal interview if even that is allowed. And a subject more like home upbringing and religious call would be less antagonistic than, “Correlation between Sexual Attitude and Shame and Guilt of the Augustinian Contemplative Nuns”. I doubt if anyone would participate with that. I wouldn’t.

Since I was interested with nuns i was reading articles about them when suddenly i found a news article about a religious sister in italy who was unconscious about her pregnancy.Then after a lots and lots of reading i found a thesis about sexual attitude and shame and guilt that was conducted to seminarians so i told myself why not use the same variables from the previous study and change the respondents btw the study even recommended to conduct the similar study to nuns to confirm the validity of their study and so obliged but then i again, i got deferred.
