My friend is an unbaptized Christian seeking to explore the Catholic Church. Aside from the Bible and Catechism, what are some good starting resources for her? At this point I think the more simple, the better. I don’t want to overwhelm her with a ton of information and difficult theological concepts.

In spite of the unfortunate title, Catholicism for Dummies (Fr John Trigilio is one of the authors, make sure you don’t get some other book by mistake) is from all reports really good too.

It is a good book. BTW, *Dummies *is a series put out by Wylie (sp?) publishing company. There are scads of titles. The idea is that they explain everything simply, not using jargon, yet very well.

I know, I find the whole idea of calling them that, or their competition the ‘Complete Idiot’s Guide’ series, a bit offputting. Surely they could find a more positive way of expressing the same concept?

I have the yellow and orange books I don’t remember which title is which. I have also look over the blue one. I find all of them written on a middle school level, instead of an adult seeking level.
