I’m an ex-evangelical and recently realized that I experienced spiritual abuse in my past, and it has shaped a lot of how I view spirituality, God, the Church, and Christianity. At this point, I’m trying to parse through what was abusive and what was not, especially where there is some overlap with Catholicism. I don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater (i.e. Christianity out with my particular experience of Evangelicalism). Can anyone recommend any resources for dealing with spiritual abuse?
