So I’ve come across this concept (under a variety of names) recently, and it basically posits that an interviewer should not let certain POV on their show because it will give voice and legitimacy to bad ideas.

The most recent manifestation of this is that supposedly Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want Biden to debate Trump because that will make it seem that Trump is the president, which is an irresponsible message .

But aside from the fact that interviewers and private companies have the right to give or deny a voice to anybody they like, any thoughts on “responsible platforming?

I understand it if a private company decides to deny someone, who is in violation with their ToS, use of their platform. I also get demonetizing content that might upset advertisers, if the company wants to do that. But I think both instances are wielded more and more often as a way to silence dissenting opinions and create even more echo chambers for the left.

The fact that we are at a point in America where we will call anything we don’t agree with hate speech and anyone we don’t agree with as worthy of silencing all together is gross. We should never shy away from a discussion if there’s a chance someone can be won over to a better point of view, and sometimes we’re even the ones who need to be won over.

Nancy doesn’t want Biden to debate Trump because he’s become inarticulate and slow. He struggles to explain much of anything anymore. The strategy for Joe Biden is to say as little as possible and provide the fewest amount of opportunities for his actual ideas to be discussed or debated. Its real sad.

Seems like this is what’s been going on with universities not allowing conservative speakers for years now. And the media in general!
This election (like 2016) is Trump vs the media. Crap like this is why people vote for Trump as a protest vote if nothing else.
Just another aspect of “cancel culture” in my opinion.
