Responsorial psalm

At a parish I attend occasionally, instead of the people only saying the response the priests has them say the whole psalm together. Has anyone else seen anything like this?
 
In our parish (actually in our whole diocese), the psalms are sung or sort of chanted by the psalmist, with the responses likewise sung by the congregation. Because of the familiarity of the people to the “melody,” sometimes they also chanted the verses with the psalmist, although the priest didn’t ask the congregation to do so.

We used to all say the psalm in our parish, but a new priest stopped it. It was very dependent on people having their own Missal to follow along. It’s not forbidden, as a Bishop doing his Visitation of the parish suggested printing out copies of the psalm to help those who couldn’t join in.
 
Just a suggestion; perhaps this tread should be over on “Liturgy ans Sacraments” forum 🙂
 
GIRM 61: “If the Psalm cannot be sung, then it should be recited in such a way that it is particularly suited to fostering meditation on the word of God.”

So it is indeed permissible for the whole congregation to take part in reciting the psalm, provided they do so in a manner suited to fostering meditation upon it.
