Yes, of course there are some real bombs out there, but just forget about those.

List your top 3 favorite reality shows and give some reasons behind it.

1 - Intervention. If you haven’t seen this show, you are in for a real treat. These people are usually so out of their gourd, they never see it coming! lol.

2 - Black & White. Simple, look for the right combination of racism and ignorance in people, put them in a house together and watch the chaos that will ensue.

3 - Psychic detectives. This show is like a flashback to poltergeist with that crazy old midget lady/thing except this is a weekly series, lol.

  1. What Not To Wear (TLC) (American Version) - Clinton and Stacey are much more charitable in their assessments and gentle nudging toward good taste than their British compadres.
  2. Project Runway (Bravo) - I enjoy the fashion creation assignments (I enjoy sewing and costume design as a hobby) although I very much dislike the catiness between some of the contestants.
  3. Tie: Intervention (A&E) - gripping but often uplifting true stories; Biggest Loser (NBC) /Celebrity Fit Club (VH1) - As someone who has turned fitness into my “new” lifestyle, I appreciate the trials and hurdles that both “regular people” and celebrities have to voercome in order to achieve good health and wellness.

  1. “24”…who says Jack Bauer is not real! 😃
  2. What not to Wear (TLC) - I love Stacy and Clinton’s biting humor and they usually end up converting the victim back to the world of good fashion taste.
  3. The Apprentice - I simply love the Donald and his arrogance. I find it charming in a disarming way.

The Apprentice
The Nanny
Dominick Dunne’s Power, Privilege & Justice (not really a reality show but based on true stories)

  1. Project Runway – those designers are really in a pressure cooker (under the gun and under the Gunn 😃 ), and it’s fun to see what they can come up with. I wanted Santino to win. 😦
  2. What Not To Wear – because I enjoy makeovers, in general, although there can be sort of a cookie-cutter sameness to the looks Stacy and Clinton encourage – what’s with all the pointy-toed high-heeled shoes, anyway? 😃 I would love to see on this show a woman who needs a fashion makeover, but insists on maintaining a more-than-average level of modesty in her attire. 😃
I don’t have a third because I don’t watch any others. I used to watch Survivor, but I quickly lost interest when I realized it wasn’t really about survival, but about game-playing, alliances, and back-stabbing. I watched a few episodes of Big Brother, but watching a bunch of people sitting around in a room and yakking was the height of boredom.

OMG - Carol - I totally agree about the pointy-toed shoes!!! I think Stacey & Clinton are in cahoots with some podiatrist to generate more patients!!

Ohhh I love pointy toe shoes. Just my feet are too big to look dainty in them.
I think you ladies must have pointy toe shoe envy. 😃

I’ve heard that the pointy-toed shoes have extra room in the front, so the toes don’t actually have to be crammed into the pointy portion. Oh yes, that’s just what I need, for my size 11 feet to look like size 16! Clown shoes, anyone? 😃

  1. American Idol - young stars being born right before your very eyes! And you get to choose. :yup:
  2. American Chopper - Choppers are cool, and the Tuttles are fun.
  3. America’s Most Wanted - Rounding up the bad guys. With the added effect of suspense and horror. Sometimes I can’t sleep after watching this show.
(did you notice the patriotic theme to my answer? 😃

pointy boots…maybe 😃

I like What not to Wear’ but often don’t like some of the way the over priced clothes fit the women… some of the jackets seem to be too small…as when the arms are lifted it pulls around the 'arm & sholder area. But their advice on jeans and slacks are

I must be honest and say the hair guy is not that good…I’ve seen better at one of the hair cut chains…like Great Clips. I’ve noticed only about 3 haircuts that I liked…I can’t say about color…you’d have to see in person to tell how it looks…

Nick Arrojo is the hair guy…but what irks me is when women have the chance to get a free new hairdo, they balk and insist on keeping their Laura Ingalls Wilder 'do 😛 I kid, I kid! 😃

I like Reality tv…
  1. Bounty Hunters
  2. Family Plots
  3. American Idol
  4. Dancing w/Stars
  5. Cops/ Americas Most Wanted
  6. Court tv…
  7. Americas Next top Model
  8. Style chanel…

I understand 😃 I think there was one episode where one woman wouldn’t cut it at all…

Nick does okay but not the best…

Double drats! I forgot about these two. I love them too -and I am going to tune into America’s Top Model tonight.

  1. Project Runway (although I wanted Daniel to win)- I find the creative process fascinating, there are quite a few characters, and some of the designs are stunning.
  2. America’s Next Top Model- it’s interesting to get a “behind the scenes” look at modeling, and again, it has interesting characters; it also makes me grateful that I don’t rely on my looks for a career.
  3. What Not to Wear- this show is just fun. Who wouldn’t want $5000 to completely overhaul their wardrobe, plus a makeover? I live vicariously through the “victims”. 😃

Oh, Jen, I wanted Daniel to win, too. He just seemed like such a SWEET guy, and SO talented! I bet his parents are really proud.

Although I have to admit that Chloe’s life story is heart-wrenching: one of 8 girls, escaped from Laos (or was it Cambodia?) and kept in a “family prison” until they could make it out to the U.S. And then what does she do? Hone her talent and become a successful entrepreneur. Hers is truly an “American Dream” story! 👍

# 1 The Biggest Loser!
I get motivated watching people sweating and starving fat off their bodies.
Did anyone else watch the season premier last night?

Lol? I’ve never seen the show but none of the addicts I’ve seen in reality were any lol material.
2 - Black & White. Simple, look for the right combination of racism and ignorance in people, put them in a house together and watch the chaos that will ensue.
So which is one supposed to enjoy more, secretly agreeing with the racists or feeling morally superior to them?
3 - Psychic detectives. This show is like a flashback to poltergeist with that crazy old midget lady/thing except this is a weekly series, lol.
Psychics – there’s reality!

In case you can’t tell, I hate so-called “reality” shows. I bet more writing talent goes into them than some regular shows.
I don’t know if Survivor is still on but I wish they would let me produce it one year – just load the island up with cameras & mikes, drop the people off and come back in a year to see if anyone is still alive. That would be reality!

I only posted two choices before, “Project Runway” and “What Not To Wear”, so I’ll post a third now:
  1. Meerkat Manor
It plays more lika a soap opera, but it is real, and what cute little animals! They’re not always nice, but they’re cute!
