I said a short prayer I seemed to make-up in my mind and it brought me to tears. Somehow my thoughts evolved into this, and God showed me His mercy as I reflected on the times I have been away from Him. I wanted to share what I thought as best I could.

"You stand on the shore and I step backwards into the boat. I stare into your face, I see into your heart. I see the love in your expression. The expression is one of great sadness, borne out of great love. I continue to look at your presence as I push my foot against the dock and the boat drifts backwards. I don’t care for your stare any more, and I turn away. The boat rocks and its momentum takes it further away. Soon we will be at sea.

Lord you watch me do this almost everyday. But I have seen you. You have revealed to me what is in your heart. With this knowledge I will never drift out to sea. You give me the means to quickly return. With your oars I row back in my childlike way. You have remained there and you stretch out your arms to me. Your arms are forever outstretched for my sins. You smile and embrace me. Let me never be separated from you again.
"

That is very nicely written. I know that I have felt that way at times in my life. It is nice to see in writing what we sometimes feel, but haven’t actually put into words.

Welcome home. 🙂
