It has been suggested to us before. I was open to the idea however my wife didn’t want to. She felt that she’d be constantly reminded that they weren’t hers. I respected her wishes and didn’t push the idea.
that is sad. My sister and her husband won a cruise but had a 16 month old daughter. I took my niece for the week so they could go on the cruise. In less than a week I was totally bonded so that when it came time to give her back I was amazed at how hard it was.
It’s too bad you didn’t get a chance to try fostering first.
