Rev David Mainz, a Canadian broadcaster, has written to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England asking her to use her executive power to instruct the Governor General of Canada to withhold her signature from Bill C-38. For a bill to become law in Canada, it must first be passed by the House of Commons, then passed by the Senate, then signed by the Governor General who is the Queen’s representative. Apparently there is a precedent for this. Rev Mainz points this out in his letter. I cannot copy the letter as in line text because his webpage has some kind of glitch in it. But here is the link:
