Based on what our Lord said to his Apostles just before His Ascension, recorded at the beginning of Acts, about the times and seasons the Father had fixed on His own authority, being, essentially, none of their business, I’d opt for the former choice. Man overboard!

I am not real knowledgable with the prophecy side of Revelations so I don’t really know how to critic this website. I’ve spent most of my time just attempting to “get right with God”. I am interested in such things but I’m just not in a place on my journey where it’s showing up on my studies.

Paris Blues, I checked it out and this man is a “non-denominational” preacher which means that not only is he non-Catholic but that he also is not affliated with any other churches and that means that there is no one to double check his teachings to insure that they are correct. In just watching his welcome video I discovered that about the only thing I remotely agree about is that the Christians will go through the tribulation. The Catholic Church does not believe in a “Pre-tribulation Rapture” (Like the Left Behind books) because the early church did not believe it. In fact the whole doctrine is less than 200 years old and was the pet of a couple of English preachers. It found it’s way into the commentary of the Scofield Reference Bible and has pretty much taken off among non-Catholics from there.

Personally I think that the whole “Rapture” idea is just a bit of wimpy religious wishful thinking that appeals to a lot of people who are afraid that they couldn’t hack it if we have to endure persecution. Jesus told us all plainly in the Gospels that because we choose to follow him we WILL be persecuted. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. But He also promised to be with us, even to the end of the world, and that the gates of hell will not prevail not against the church. So we have plenty of reason to “endure to the end” and be saved. There’s no doubt that we can trust Christ.

Article aside, anthing that contradicts Church teaching should be taken with a grain of salt.
Put your faith in God; live each day as if it was your last; Pray ferverently that you have time to convert and confess your sins before these events take place; then wait for God’s glorious reward when it comes.
(I too am on the journey to Catholicism, along with my children; God willing, we will make it to Easter to receive this glorious sacrament!)
