What bothers me is that you refer to the power that God gave us to CO_CREATE another human being and image our marriages like the trinity to merely “personal plumbing”.
A 6-8 inch long incision through the abdominal wall and an attempt at restoration of the fallopian tubes into some mannerr of physical functionality when they have been previously burned, cut, or tied is a personal plumbing issue.

God’s creations on the other hand, are those two little children out in the waiting room that we may have to inform… that there might be, er, uh… possible… complications
Like a blood clot…

My husband and I both underwent reversal surgery one day apart in the fall of 2005 against the recommendation of the physician that was performing my husband’s reversal. He insisted that it was “better” that we wait and see if his reversal was successful before I had a “major” surgery. He gave us statistics and the chances of us conceiving were very poor at best due to the amount of time that had passed since we had the initial sterilization procedures over 10 years prior. We declined his advice and explained that we chose to put our entire lives in God’s hands and accept His will regardless of the outcome. My surgery required a hospital stay and his was done in his physician’s office. Neither was perfectly safe or without possible difficulties. We never had a second thought about when or how once we made the decision to reverse our wrongs. The following spring, we found out that we were expecting and now have a beautiful three year old son. We knew that reversing our sterilizations were not necessary due to us confessing our individual sin prior but at the end of the day we knew that our obedience in returning our fertility to Him was pleasing.

God bless you both.

Good Morning,
Code:
So happy I actually decided to come and do some reading! I was actually reading a board where a wonderful woman has decided to help those who were searching for those needing financial help with tubal reversals. It is listed on the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center message board and there are some requirements but I have not read through them all yet. I hope this helps! And have a blessed day.
Tubal Ligation Reversal

I think that “blowing it off” by stating that you have confessed the sin and received absolution is just too simplistic. If a woman can make herself fertile again and has the means to do so then she should do it.

I am a 61 year old Catholic eight years post menopause. I had a tubal ligation done thirty years ago. I take full responsibility for what I did. I have, for the past year really regretted mutilating the body made by God and realize that I had no right to mutilate what He had made. I am now seriously considering a tubal reversal. I understand the health risks involved but I am willing to do what I should have done thirty years ago: put my trust in God.
I am about to write a letter to the OB/GYN who performed the surgery, get as much information as I can about the procedure that he performed on me and start looking for a physician willing to try and reverse the tubal ligation. I owe it to God. I may not find anyone willing to operate on me due to my advanced years but at least then I will know that I did everything in my power to conform to God’s laws.

SILENCE IMPLIES AFFIRMATION

There was no NFP when I married at eighteen more than forty-four years ago.

It is time for the Catholic Church in the United States to aggressively market NFP. NFP classes should be made a requirement for all couples wishing to marry. It should be offered in every diocese on a regular basis and made available to all already married couples. Until we fix the Contraception problem we will not wipe out abortion.

God First.
