I’ve recently been drawn back to the faith, but I have a problem. I work part time in a grocery store, and my boss schedules me on Sundays. I can easily go to mass but I’m more concerned with the resting obligation.
Legally, am I allowed to ask my boss not to work Sundays? (He’s a Christian so think he’d understand.)
But I just asked him to cut me down from four days a week to three for school, and I worry that he might think I’m just trying to get out of work even more. My mom told me to not even bother (she isn’t very supportive.)
I’m not asking if I can work on Sundays (obviously not, I don’t think a grocery clerk fullfills the criteria in the catechism for necessary jobs.) I’m just asking what I should do.
Also I’d only have to deal with this for a few more months or so.
