Gen:4:4: And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
I believe it should be noted that Abel according to scripture is the first human being to experience death, and that the Lord God made it known that He heard: Gen:4:10: And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Notice that Jesus experience the same by the hand of His brothers by flesh (Israelites). And that Jesus is the Lamb of God. This could give understanding just how much the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering. Both did honest work, but the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering.
Lev:1:2: Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
Lev:1:9: But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
But these offerings are of the Lord. “Of the LORD made by fire” is said in Leviticus 11 times, but yet the first offering mentioned is said to be, “an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.”
1Cor:3:11: For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12: Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13: Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14: If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15: If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
What is the fire that proves the work to be of the Lord? That apparently is the reward for the worker.
