"Richard Nixon Supported Abortion for Mixed-Race Babies, Rape New Tapes Reveal

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 23, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Although US President Richard Nixon remained silent on the landmark 1973 Supreme Court rulings that legalized abortion on demand, newly released tapes show the disgraced President actually believed legal abortion was “necessary” in certain cases, such as when the baby was of mixed-race or conceived through rape."…

I was wondering what those tapes would reveal. Thanks for the link.

Got to remeber back in those days most people in most races were against race mixing. If either of my parents had even merely dated out side of their race that would of been grounds for being disowned no questions asked. That type of thinking was not moral, but that was the way it was.

It’s still like that among older folk where we live…
One of my cousins supposedly dated a black man years ago & her parents did disown her.We never heard her name mentioned again.Sad.

My maternal grandmother who was mostry Irish decent, almost got disowned for amrrying a Dutchman. Im glad she did marry him, some of the best times of my life were with Grandpa Gerry.

It’s hard to look back in 2009 & understand how folks reacted to things years ago & what was accepted as conventional thinking back then.Things certainly change.

People back then said the same things about inter-racial marriage that they do about gay marriage today. It was going to destroy the institution of marriage, it was against God’s Will, it was going to harm the children, it was against natural law…

I wonder how people will look back on 2009 and view our “conventional thinking”

My cynical mind says that if a genetic cause were found for homosexuality, there would be pro-life people who would suddenly become pro-choice…

Well I don’t agree.,I hear what you are saying, but since this is a generally orthodox Catholic site I think you are barking up the wrong tree.In many ways.
Inter-racial marriage has not been against official Church teaching, whereas homosexuality always has been. Some Catholics may personally hold ideas re. inter-racial marriage, but they are not supported by the Magesterium.
Church teaching & natural law do not change & are above convention.
