Recently I found a gold ring with what appears to be the Cathedral of Turin engraved on the top. It was found with a metal detector at a depth of 5" indicating it may have been lost 100 years ago or more. When I arrived at home I discovered the ring opened at the top. After opening it I found a small piece of fabric is encased under a piece of glass. I’m hoping someone here might be able to help discover it’s history. It seems to be quite a unique item. As I am new to this forum, unfortunately I can not upload a photo.
Thank you for your help or suggestions.

It’s named fro St John the Baptist. You appear to have a relic of some sort.
The cathedral is the burial place of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901–1925), Turin native, avid athlete, and benefactor of the poor, called the “saint for youth of the Third Millennium.” He was beatified by John Paul II in 1990.
