Whoever wrote that probably thought he was being clever, but that’s one of the lamer ones.
It’s preachy trying to be funny, but it’s just flat.
Besides, said Roman official should know better that Pilate acquitted Jesus. There’s no way he would be regarded as a “dangerous rebel.” It was the Jews who convicted him of a capital religious crime, something the Romans did not care about, and the Romans did not see any problem with him where Caesar was concerned.
