Hi,

After over 30 years as a practising member of the Church of England, I was received into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church in 2006. My lovely wife is still Anglican and our four children were baptised (and oldest two confirmed) in the dear old C of E.

In a bid to maintain martial harmony, I attend the Saturday Vigil Mass alone at my RC church and we worship together as a family on Sunday mornings in the C of E. This arrangement has the full approval of the Catholic parish priest and the Anglican vicar.

I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences?

Pax,

Simon

I knew of a Roman Catholic priest who tried to convert his father -Church of England priest - on the latter’s death bed. Didn’t go down well with the family.

I wish I could meet you as you sound like a very, fine man I would enjoy friending. Having attended Mass alone since our children have left the nest, I know some of what you are experiencing.

My wife and son are Catholic, while I remain Episcopalian. We attend the Catholic mass together. When my wife can’t go due to work (which happens fairly often), I take our son to Catholic mass and religious education. I go to the Episcopal Church on my own, as often as I can. My wife used to go with me when we were first married, but not lately.

My wife is Roman Catholic, I am Anglican. Our daughter was baptized at an Episcopal Church and I work at Roman Catholic church. During the school year we attend the Catholic Church at which I work and during the summers (during my off time) we attend a local Episcopal Church. There are many unique relationships in marriage between the two churches. There is a good website for inter-church families in these particular circumstances, I’ll see if I can track it down.
