A few weeks ago at Mass I saw at t-shirt that read “Catholicism: Not a spectator sport.” I have what I think would be a great idea for a Catholic t-shirt: I recall seeing a pro-ecology bumper sticker with a picture of the earth and the caption “Love your Mother.” My idea for a Catholic t-shirt would use the caption next to a portrayal of the Virgin Mary (the Our Lady of Guadaloupe shirt featured at the catholicposters.com would be perfect).
If you advertise your faith, then I would say just be ready to defend it too. I have tons of stuff that definitely lets people know that I’m Catholic, so I know the questions will start to come. You also may get some hateful remarks, so be ready to respond in an appropriate manner. My first insulting remark and I think I gaped like a fish.
I had to do a lot of research in basic apologetics while still in RCIA because I was assigned to a judge who felt the need to “save” me from the error of becoming Catholic and of course going to hell on the hell express. In the end, I think I got him thinking that he did not know as much as he thought about our church or the roots of Christianity. He actually tried to say the early church was hidden evangelicals and I busted him on that right away.
