Roman Catholic Bible question?

Thank you all for your help and assistance. I literally just got out of the catholic store and bought my first catholic bible, the second revised standard edition and later on ill by a catholic New American bible when I can afford it and eventually a rheims vulgate. I actually came a little short buying this one but the cashier woman mischieviously told me not to worry. Thanks again.

I’ve been reading the KJB, and I had just assumed this was the official catholic bible until just recently I found out otherwise. Can someone clarify the differences and what the Catholic Bible is and where I can buy it? Is there a certain translation I should get?

The “official Catholic Bible” is actually the oldest Hebrew and Greek manuscripts since The Church has been the custodian since the New Testament Scriptures were written… What I think you’re asking about is an English Translation and what you probably want is a modern English translation, not one from the first millenium. I would recommend the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible as a very good modern language translation. It’s available here:
