I decided not to look at any more forums of people saying: “This is a mortal sin” because I feel like it’s turning me scrupulous and it’d be best to ask my priest these questions. I’m doing it to preserve my peace with God. I want to temporarily stop looking up what is and isn’t sinful because I feel it is harming my brain until I feel ready to get back in the game.

Please, make an appointment with your priest and yes, stay away from forums and any “is this a sin” threads.

I’d love to stop seeing all the "Is this a sin? " and “Is this a mortal sin?” posts myself.

I agree you should talk to your priest. I did.

How many canonized Saints spent their time googling what is and isn’t a mortal sin?

Now, now, OP is very clearly distressed. This thread is probably not an appropriate place to poke fun.

Using the internet was a penance back then. Internet speeds in the middle ages were terrible! 🙂

I am in no way poking fun at the OP. I suffer from scrupulosity and OCD myself and think this poster is doing the right thing. Dwelling on what is and isn’t a sin or what is and isn’t mortally sinful and all the kinds of things that we scrupulants should not be doing. It is morbid and unhealthy. OP is correct to avoid that stuff .

Sounds to me like you’ve made a wise choice. 🙏

More specifically a Gravy Matter…

I follow “Ask a Mortician” on YouTube. She has great discussions of Grave Matter!
