Romance breakers for guys

Yeah…I don’t know why, but that hair thing is so true… the young woman that I like had longer hair at one point.
Then all of the sudden she shows up at Mass with shoulder length hair.
I won’t lie, my knees got all weak and I had to sit down.

Okay, then, re: the hair length issue… I married a weirdo then!😉

I had long hair for years… down to my waist, then I shortened it to the middle of my back, then to just below my shoulders. My husband kept saying, “why don’t you cut it short?”

So one day I did. REAL short. Think Pat Benatar, circa 1985 (or whenever the video for “We Belong” came out.) DH just LOVED it! And so did I… for a while. Problem with really short hair is, it doesn’t stay really short for long. And if it’s cut in layers, it starts to look a mess after a couple weeks. And, at the time, I was not working (our son was a few months old) and getting my hair re-cut every couple weeks was NOT in the budget. So, after about a year, much to DH’s chagrin, I let it grow out again.

Now, after having my hair to the middle of my back for ten years… and having to wear a ponytail and hairnet at work for those last ten years, I recently got another cut. Now it’s just above my shoulders, my curl is back (the weight of long hair just pulls my natural curl out) and my DH is thrilled about my hair again… even more when I put that curl gel in it and wear that “wet” look (whatever floats his boat, I guess!)

So, not all guys go crazy over long hair. Mine is one of them!
 
wait…so they were talking about guys liking long hair instead of short?..oops…I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention…

Well, I’m one of the weird ones, too!😃

As far as I can make an educated guess, I think it’s a bit of a control issue. Men are largely attracted to the visual. When what attracts them is being unilaterally changed, they have nothing to say before but are expected to accept or even like it after, then they may feel threatened. There’s also the matter that sometimes what the woman finds nicer the man does not. For example, most of hair style changes I’ve witnessed in women have been for the worse from my point of view. In my view, some of those were even capable of turning a drop-dead beauty into an average looking one. This is a bit of a scare because it may seem her self image is out of touch or perhaps she doesn’t care how you see her.

Ah, yes indeed…I AM one of the weird ones…

Sure, longer hair is OK for me.
But for some reason seeing a significant girl (:D) one day with long hair, a few days later she shows up with shorter hair…I went weak at the knees…(I can’t state that enough :o I’ve never gone weak at the knees over a girl before!)

And don’t even get me started on when she showed up with her hair completely tied back…😉

I does sound like you have fallen completely and utterly in love, that does tend to make people a little weird :cool:. With further consideration I must confess that shoulder length hair also works for me, sometimes it is even preferable to longer hair. As long as they don’t cut their hair short, I am happy :).

Oh yeah!..Weirdness was already a huge part of my personality…You have no idea how bad it got…😃

I must state as well that SHORT SHORT hair…as in, “You look like a boy!” hair…well…that doesn’t quite cut it for me… 😛
I wouldn’t like THAt…but shoulder length…and perhaps anything before “boyish” length…works well.
 
For some reason I ALWAYS notice when any woman changes her hair, my wife included. It has gotten friends mad at me when I compliment their wife/girlfriends new hair only to learn that they changed it several days before and my buddy never noticed.

Another potential romance breaker (unless you are REALLY comfortable with each other) when she bends over to get something begin singing “There’s a moon out tonight”😃

My wife is very patient.
