Rosary on your fingers?

I find that most of the time when I feel called to say a Rosary I don’t have one on me. Is it just as good to say the Rosary on one’s fingers? I find this very natural- especially since we have 10 fingers. I would say the 75% of the Rosaries I have said have been without an actual Rosary.

Why not? My Dad used to use the notches on the steering wheel. What is important is the prayer!
