A thread was started here about the power of the rosary. I wasn’t a big rosary person but I felt like that particular thread was yet another sign for me to start. So I did.

I also started reading on the internet about graces that come along with the rosary… one man wrote how he was away from his family and the family dog was sick. He prayed that the dog would be taken in his sleep so his wife would not have to go through putting the dog to sleep.

Well, my beloved dog was sick too. He had to have his 4th surgery to remove a tumor. He was 14 1/2 years old so this was going to be very hard on him… but no way could I put him to sleep.
6 years ago, my husband left my son and I, he never saw our child again… and . ugh… he did a lot to us that left my 11 year old son and I with severe depression. When this happened my son and I would lie in bed and just cry. It was an awful time in our life. When we had nothing to smile about… our dog would make us smile. He actually would smile, it was the funniest thing… his mouth turned up. He never left our side… ever. Anyway… this dog was more than just a pet to us. I have always felt like this dog was sent to us by God to help us through that time.
My dog went to work with me, shared the bed, shared the sofa… was spoiled rotten as repayment for those awful years when he made us smile when there was nothing else to smile about. I thank Jesus for Buckley.

Well, I started praying the rosary and I would pray for my dog to make it… and if that was not possible, please take him in peace… he was an angel and when it was time, please take him in his sleep.
He went in for surgery last week… and died while on pain killers in his sleep.

I think God eased our pain, He heard me pray the rosary.
We miss him terribly, but I am comforted that God answered my prayers for a peaceful death of the dog He sent to us.

Sorry to hear about your situaton, but I am glad your dog was able to bring some happyness in both your lives. There is a reason why God gives us animals, and I think pets are small tokens of God’s love. In my humble opinion I thnk animals follow God’s will to the teeth, they live according to instinct just as the Father made them. Keep praying the Rosary and it will help with your pain of loss. God bless.

I understand the strong attachment to a beloved pet. I, too had a precious pet that died of cancer, but unfortunately, she had to be euthanized when I was a child.

The only bright side to your situation, obviously, is that God heard your prayers, and answered them. This, and numerous other intercessions through the Rosary attests to its power. I will say a prayer for you and your son in this painful time.

So sorry about your dog, he sounded wonderful. My own dog just died several days ago so I know how hard it is to deal with.😦
