When praying the Rosary I like to do intentions for each decade. I am curious as to the prayer used when praying the intention. Usually what I do is something like this: “The Baptism in the Jordan, for the conversion of the world.” How do you make your intentions?

hi,

what you are doing sounds excellent, i also like to imagine that i am at that scene representing each mystery. this helps to focus my mind on the medatation.

God bless,

Yes, I agree. This sounds like a really good way. I typically jot my intentions for each day down on index cards… and lay them at the feet of a statue of Our Lord, or Our Lady… while praying the Rosary.

But I really like your way! Thanks for sharing it. God bless. 🙂

What a nice idea to tie the theme of the Mystery into your intention! I sometimes just pause before a decade and offer it for the first intention that comes to my mind. That way, each day, whatever issues, problems or desires that are on my mind at that time get prayed for.

Good idea.
An idea that was told to me was to offer percentages of all your prayers and everything in the day for various intentions. You can offer 5% for Joe’s conversion, 10 % etc etc. Just make sure it adds up to 100%.👍

You do about what I do. I do write down my intentions and put them on a picture of The Blessed Mother that I have and after talking to her awhile about these intentions I proceed with my rosary. I have tried to dedicate a decade at a time for a particular intention but somehow that doesn’t work for me.🤷 (think I have posted this before…seems to be a few “rosary” threads that have floated around in the recent past.)🙂

A lot of times I’ll pray an entire rosary for one (or several) intentions. That I usually write down or say to myself before beginning. But I never thought of doing an intention for each decade. That’s a great idea!!👍

My wife and I had a concern that we had shared with our priest. The day after we told him we were at mass and he knelt down beside us in the pew and told us that he was thinking of us and our concerns recently and had mentioned us for a decade of the rosary when he had not had time for the entire rosary. It meant a great deal to us that he had remembered us in his prayers in such a way. It may not seem a lot to some but it meant a lot to us.
