Hi, there my father is currently on life support after getting hit by a car and I was wondering if instead of reflecting on the mysteries of the rosary and meditating that I can focus on my prayer for my dad to get better while saying the rosary.

I am really confused that if the rosary is just used for meditation or prayer. I ask this question before, but I didn’t get clear enough answers.

Thank you and God Bless :angel1:

I can’t give you a Rosary prayer or answer that question but would certainly pray for you and him. I don’t know you but I lost my dad at a young age and its not nice at all. My thoughts are with you!

Regards

The rosary is for prayer. It is strong. I will pray for your father and your family. God bless you.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

When my own dad was in the hospital, I wrote down my prayers to help me focus. I prayed Hail Marys, Our Fathers, my intentions (that he leave the hospital alive), for God’s will, etc.

I prayed for over two hours before his lifesaving procedure and during.

Prayer is our communication with God, there is no right or wrong way. We do not even have to be vocal as the Holy Spirit knows our hearts intentions.

I am sorry about your dad. Hope you have family with you. I pray that God answers your prayers.

I’m so sorry to hear of your father, you all have my prayers.

Here’s how I understand the use of the rosary;

Your Intentions
The words of the prayers
The Meditation on the Mysteries

Your intentions would be for your father, the doctors, your family, etc… the words of the prayers you pray will be the “standard” ones for the rosary, and the meditation on the mysteries would be the same as the “standard” ones.

You can pray the Rosary & offer it up for your Father’s health & recovery. I’ll be praying for him as well.

When visiting family and friends in hospital, some who were in very serious condition, I found that praying the rosary in their presence quietly and gently brought many graces, even when they seemed to be completely unconscious. It also helps to ask a priest to attend the sick person and offer prayers at the bedside. The very minimum grace recieved was a lasting sense of peace. It was not always possible to pray openly with many visitors in attendance, so I would usually look for a quiet space to be with them and pray, and at times take the same prayer and rosary to before the tabernacle at church and deliver the prayers over into our Lord’s hands. I pray the Lord strengthens and keeps you, your father and your family during this time.

Peace+

Yes. Mary is all about hearing prayers for intercessions and carrying the petitions to her son. You have my prayers as well. me

God does not count the number of words we use when we pray.

The prayer of Moses for his sister was “Lord, heal her.”

I am not at home with praying the psalms. supposedly, there is a psalm for everything. But, I haven’t sorted them out.

Jesus gave us the “Lord’s prayer” and when I pray, I am especially conscious of and emphasize the word “us” because I pray for the whole world.

Pray from the heart.

YOu pray the Rosary anyway you like. If oyou are contemplating Jesus healing your father this is fine. When we are in distress it is sometimes hard to focus on other things. He (Jesus) will be happy with just his name if it from your heart! Love him and trust him and be thankful for the time you get to sdpend with your earthly Father before he returns to our Lord.
