Rosary Question

I have a little pamphlet that helps me to pray the rosary. It has a page for each of the mysteries and then it breaks it down into the 5 things you meditate on. (Sorry, I don’t know all of the correct terminoligy yet.)

So, the pamplet shows that you are supposed to pray certain mysteries on certain days of the week. I was wondering, is it wrong to just pray on whatever mystery you feel compelled to meditate on? For example, with my due date drawing so close, I feel drawn to the Joyful Mysteries. Is it okay if I want to focus on those more so than the others right now?

You can pray whichever ones you want whenever you want. Some people exclude certain sets of mysteries they don’t like. The Church merely recommends which sets of mysteries to pray on certain days so that everyone can “be of one mind” in a sense, praying the same things.

Or you could pray all 4 of the sets of mysteries everyday, and include special emphasis on the Joyful Mysteries.

Yes- pray whatever mysteries you feel compelled to pray! When is your due date?🙂
 
The recommendations are intended for groups that pray the Rosary in public. In private, you can do it any way you want - you can even make up your own mysteries, if you want to.
 
I’ve heard that people will often say the sorrowful mysteries for months ina row to try to understand better the sacrifice Christ made. So to go along with everyone else, yes, you can say whatever you want in whatever order
