The Rosary itself is an optional devotion, and the schedule is certainly not mandatory! If it causes you distress, by all means skip those days, or substitute another mystery.

It may be helpful to discuss this with the doctor helping you manage your condition.

Technically you don’t have to pray any of the mysteries. Just say the rosary.

As I recall Therese mentions she keeps almost falling asleep saying the Rosary, not that she dislikes it. Understandable! Happens to many of us.

That’s so beautiful I literally cried. Not sad, just moving. I never considered consoling Jesus and his Mother.

Well I just figure that if it is true that with God there is no time, that everything is eternally in the “present” from His perspective, then it is possible that any consolation I can offer, no matter how small, could be a help to Jesus and Mother Mary in what we consider “the past”. All time is eternally present to the Blessed Trinity. This is hard to type out but it makes sense in my head. ha!

I forgot to mention also that at the Crowning of Thorns mystery, I like to tell Jesus sorry for all the times I have picked a Barabas in my life over Him. Other times I like to go into the crowd and start shouting “Jesus” over and over so that Jesus will at least hear someone shouting His name.

I hadnt thought about time that way. I’ve thought about God being beyond time and the Eucharist connecting in time to that moment. And our sins being with & on Jesus at the time of his Passion.

It’s a wonderful thing that the logical conclusion is that our love is with him too.

And that since Mary is enabled by God to hear our prayers that she can hear my consoling spirit, even after the fact. The way you might send consolations to someone after their loved one has passed.

I think I will start this meditation for the Sorrowful Mysteries. If I get to a place where I start to feel superior or forget that my sins are why this suffering happened, I plan to meditate on the sufferings, empathizing with the pain to bring me back down. But since, I’m prone to deapair over this at the moment, consoling meditation sounds perfect.

This is good.

Are you sure about that? A because I love to pray the rosary but can’t remember the mysteries and looking them up while I’m praying is too disruptive.

Yes. I never say the mysteries. Doing so takes me out of my meditation zone in praying. Just focus on god while praying. Nothing wrong with the mysteries … but not needed

Good. That’s the way my mom taught me to pray it.
