Does it matter whether a person prays either the Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet more often than the other? Do they have separate purposes or provide different graces? Thanks in advance.
Praying is act of meditation or you are communacating by thoughts. So Jesus said:“But when you pray go to your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret.” When He said inner room it is our heart. When He said close the door it means close all the five organs of senses and fix your mind to Lord God. Now the Rosary using beads repeated praising Mary and the fruit that is in the womb(vessel) of Mary. And in every mysteries are their history. We have to understand and use our thoughts, that every human being is going through this cycle or process. Divine Mercy Chaplet,do you think that this repeated prayer by mouth without action is accepted by His Father who is in Heaven? Think of it!:bowdown2:

If there had to be a choice between the two (and assuming that the revelations were true and accurate, something we cannot know), one is claimed to have been instituted by God Himself, so on that basis alone I would assume it would be preferable.

Well the Virgin Mary has said to say the Rosary First and then say some other prayers for extra merit.

And Jesus’ apparitions to St Faustina commanding her to pray the Chaplet (not the Rosary) unceasingly mean nothing next to those of Our Lady?

Both prayers are great, but in my opinion, if you could only say one, I would stick with the Rosary. I believe it was at Fatima that the Blessed Mother said that a special power was given to the Rosary in our time.

But since the Divine Mercy chaplet only takes about 5 minutes, it shouldn’t be too hard to get both in every day.

If Jesus is so disapproves of the Rosary why does he say to use it
to do the Divine Mercy prayers on it ?

So you’re saying it’s the physical beads that matter, and the actual prayers one says on them are less important? That a Rosary or DMC said on one’s fingers, for example, is less efficacious?

Great - then I can just keep the beads in my pocket or wear them around my neck and get the same or nearly the same benefits without all those pesky time-consuming prayers then. 👍

Well actually I use a sliding Rosary ring to say the Rosary and Divine Mercy chaplet on.Are you really trying to say Jesus doesn’t want people to recite the Rosary anymore ?

No - but He has given us the Divine Mercy Chaplet as well, and given it a ringing endorsement. After all, He did command St Faustina to say it unceasingly, which doesn’t leave a lot of time for the Rosary, does it? :hmmm:

Besides which you didn’t answer my question. It was you who suggested that the beads mattered and not (or less so) the prayers said upon them. Is that really what you believe? Is your Rosary or DMC more efficacious because it’s said with beads or ring or what have you than it would be if said without?

I think you must have misunderstood me, I read the Divine Mercy book about 15 year ago,I think Jesus say something about the Rosary Beads can double as a Divine Mercy Chaplet. In the book I don’t remember him saying to do it “unceasingly” but I do remember him saying something like this " If a soul only recited the Divine Mercy Chaplet one time in its life, that soul will receive great Mercy" so I think one will be ok saying it once daily.👍

PS I Pray from my Heart.🙂

From St Faustina’s diary, 687 - "I heard these words in my soul: “Say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you.” "

I’m glad you pray from your heart, and I should think any prayer, be it Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, or your own words, must be acceptable when prayed in such a way. 👍 :getholy:

Ok I found it:"Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only “once”, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy . . . I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy "687
Saying it once daily is the excepted method.
