I know that praying the Rosary in a family group helps one to gain a plenary indulgence (given that all the other requirements are met: confession, pray for the Pope’s intentions, receive the Holy Eucharist…). Unfortunately, I cannot get my wife to pray the Rosary everyday with the kids and I. (Maybe twice a week, which is a great improvement- Thank you Jesus and Mary! 👍 )

Here’s my question- Even if my wife does not pray the Rosary with us I still pray it with the kids. The kids, however, are 3 and 15 months. So, they are usually running around the room being kids. :rotfl: (They do listen though…) Even though they cannot yet say the prayers, do I gain a plenary indulgence for saying it with them?

I think you shouldn’t focus whether you get plenary or partial indulgence as it could distort your purpose of praying. I’m not saying that it’s not important, but it’s not the most important. Just pray sincerely as Jesus knows what’s in your heart.

Btw, it’s a good way to give example to your kids. 👍

I’m not sure if the children ‘count’.

Also, the plenary indulgence can be gained by saying the rosary in any group, not just as a family.
🙂

Or by reciting it in a Church (as I have done)

If the rosary doesn’t work, try reading the bible for at least 30 minutes - that will grant you a plenary indulgence, also.
