Rosary with metal links

Have any of you ever noticed that praying with a rosary that has metal links will, after a few months, leave a weird smell on your fingers?

I use platic beaded, string-linked rosaries because of this, butI was wondering if anyone else notices.

Yes - some of those rosaries have metals that react with your skin oils and perspiration. Annoying. I have come to prefer the knotted nylon cord rosaries. They are virtually indestructible as well.

You could consider the wierd smell a blessing in disguise. The fragrance keeps your attention on your rosary meditations far longer than it takes to finish saying the actual prayers.

I like the smell, but my Mom doesn’t, she uses a wodden and string rosary for that reason.
