The rosary is a prayer cycle that focuses on different aspects of Christ’s life and Mary’s part in it. The prayer cycle itself is “meditative” in character. It’s focusing aspects center on the “misteries” of Christ’s life, which are occurances that christians are called upon to believe through faith, such as His transfiguration, His changing water to wine, His raising from the tomb, etc.
It is significant in that the praying person bonds more closely with our Lord through more focused communication with Him and his mother, Mary. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
