Russia Lashes Out at U.S. Over Human Rights Report

Russia has lashed out at a State Department report that criticized its human rights record, accusing the U.S. of a double standard, the Associated Press reported.

This is a timely article since I just e-mailed our county clerk on a human rights issue on double standards. We are not perfect-that is for sure, but we care-and that makes up for a lot of mistakes that we may have made. When we ask at Mass for forgiveness for what we have said or did to our neighbor; do we know what we have done? Most of the time a social injustice by a caring person is done out of ignorance.

I think Russia has a lot to learn about democracy and human rights before it lashes out against a nation that historically supports human dignity. Just my humble reply.
