There are Slovak Greek Catholic parishes in Czech Republic, such as SS Cosmas and Damian and Holy Trinity, both in Prague. Does anyone know of any examples of the reverse situation? Ruthenian Greek Catholic parishes in Slovakia? Any information is appreciated.

In the Czech Republic, the Ruthenian Greek Catholic jurisdiction is an exarchate.

Some of the current jurisdictions were created by splitting larger jurisdictions, that arose from the Union of Uzhorod.

So several were formed in Europe:
  • Ruthenian (Mukacheve, Prague)
  • Hungarian (Hajdudorog and Miskolc)
  • Romanian
  • Slovakian (Presov)

Thanks for your remarks. Just to refocus, of all the Catholic parishes, chapels, etc, in the Slovak Republic, does anyone know of any that are Ruthenian Catholic rather than Slovak Catholic or Roman Catholic? Thanks again.

I can ask my Slovak pastor if you’d like.

Most of the Ruthenians in Slovakia live in the northeast part of the country, near Presov.
