Sacramental grace

Unfortunately, i’m divorced. Which leads me to have this question.

My mother's priest said that while there's abuse and related issues that cause a divorce, the church stills sees the marriage as valid.  Since i'm not remarried, don't have a boyfriend or plan on having one, i can still receive communion because, like i said, the church doesn't recognize divorce and technically speaking, my ex-husband is commiting adultery and i'm not..
He also said that since i broke a sacrament, i don't have sacramental grace.  What does that mean exactly?  What is my actual status in the church?  
What does anyone know?

As long as you are not remarried or dating anyone you are perfectly fine. You might want to go to confession to confess any situation that might be sinful that led to the divorce, but other than that you are still in good standing with the CHurch. Your X on the other hand…

My instinctual response is “go find another priest!”
My second thought was that there are plenty of places to receive sacramental grace.

But, you might want to ask this question on the apologetics section of this forum. I bet they have a good answer for you.
