So lately i have been reading Lenin (out of curiosity and in order to counter communists )
But i was forgoten the decree against communism or atleast i had forgoten some details i was recently reminded of this
And Came accors this

Q1: Is it licit to join (“give name to”) communist parties or tender favor to them?

A1: No, because Communism is materialist and antichristian; the leaders of communists, even though they sometimes profess not to oppress religion, the same people nevertheless, whether by doctrine or by action, eventually make clear that they are bitterly hostile [infensos] to both God and the truths of religion and the Church of Christ.

Q2: Is it licit to publish, spread, or read books, journals, or leaflets which defend the actions of communism, or to write for them?

A2: No, because it is forbidden by the very law. [Presumably this refers to the Code of Canon Law of 1917.]

Q3. Can Christians who freely and knowingly do the things mentioned in #1 and #2 be admitted to the sacraments?

A3. No. It follows from the ordinary principles of the sacraments that those who are not properly disposed must be denied.

It says that People who commit one of the first to Points are exclused from the sacraments
Does this includes confession ?
(Just a side note i’m not in favor of communism in fact I oppose it i was only reading it in order to undersrand the enemy and to be Able to counter it in a proper fashion )

You should try to only create one thread per question. Add this into your first thread instead of having two separate threads. 🙂

Sure i Will copy this to the first thread didn’t think to update it

Thanks for citing the Catholic teachings. I knew the Church was opposed to Communism and that there’d been Papal warnings against it (e.g. adopting, following, deliberately exposing oneself to it as it might be a near occasion of sin).

I remember a priest (who ONCE at confession asked if I’d considered a vocation) warning me about his seminary formation – where he had to take Philosophy courses that included Marxism and Darwinism – and were taught by a person whose opinions on Church teachings ran toward “these things will soon be (happily ) changed”. That teacher,
according to the priest, taught a class (critical to seminarians being accepted forward) toward ordination. And he remained in that gatekeeping position … until the day he quit (to cohabit more openly with his … SSA ‘other’).

You may have read the Communist stuff for the right reasons … but officially the Church still teaches against exposing yourself to it. Going to college, you might get surprised by how often such views are offered in classes not designated as being an introduction to Marx, or Darwin or ??

The ❤️ I gave you was for doing the work and citing the CHURCH teachings. 😄 ✝️

A mea culpa I will confess is that at my public university, I was semi-forced to take a 3 unit approved class to earn my diploma (my counselor disallowed earned units he didn’t like).
He approved one on “Human Sexuality” . < A history class recounting (and lionizing IMO) famous sexual liberals (some also Communists) who’d published books almost always contradicting Catholic teaching.

I remained in the class, regurgitating (or accurately recounting) the useless stuff to be able to graduate … and accept a job per the prerequisite of having a college degree. My bad. 😪
