Hey, I’ve searched everywhere and haven’t found an answer as whether Sacred Geometry is Evil or something to stay away from. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Dear friend,

If this is how you define it then it is fine -

Sacred geometry

Sacred geometry is the geometry used in the design and construction of religious structures such as churches, temples, mosques, religious monuments, altars, tabernacles; as well as for sacred spaces such as temenoi, sacred groves, village greens and holy wells, and the creation of religious art.

But do not attribute divine powers, or other worldly powers to such, as it can be idolatry, pantheism, superstition, occultic, blasphemy, and a host of problems.

God speaks through everything including true sacred geometry, but this is not to be seen as God, or divine attributes given it. Sacred geometry seems to be there to help raise ones heart and mind up to God, and draw one into God. But it is not God per se. Hope this helps dear friend. Adios…

Yes I now see that God speaks through true sacred geometry, and that sacred geometry is not something to be worshipped but simply a connection from you to God. Now my next question is whether drawing it something that could open me up to him or not? Sorry to be so specific but I just want to be 100% clear. And by the way thanks!

What do you mean by “drawing it”, to draw as in “design” your own patterns??

Funny this topic would come up, this got me thinking of something I watched a long time ago, I cant remember everything about it, but I do remember it was a bunch of weird shapes, symbols in a sort of artistic presentation, It was very weird and gave me chills to watch it, I remember being told it was something demonic, and someone had created it using demonic symbols/ shapes (seems like they had a name for these symbols and shapes, but I cant recall what it was now).

Im not sure, but I think there may be something to this, but probably must include some interaction from the viewer for anything to actually come out of it (I assume?)

Anyone know what Im referring to?

Well mostly I mean the Flower of Life, The Genesis Pattern, and the Vesica Piscis. But not designing my own patterns just drawing these day to day with an open mind.

Wondering if this is a good idea or not.

It sounds to me that you may just be interested in “mystical” stuff. You don’t need to draw shapes to grow closer to God, just pray, read scripture, go to church so on and so forth. There was a time in my life when I looked for God in other things but the Catholic Church and the bible have it laid out the way we should seek God. I would be careful of anything not revealed to us by God or supported by the church

Attempts at divination or the seeking of “secret knowledge” are condemned by the Church. Jesus came to reveal the Truth to the poor, the uneducated, and the least. He did not come to hide it from them. As such, discovering the Truth of God is easy and directly revealed through scripture and Church teaching. Searching for hidden messages is neither necessary, nor wise.

It depends largely on how you go about it. If you simply use an “open mind” then you are opening yourself indiscriminately towards the spiritual world. While there is nothing wrong with this it can be very risky. For instance evil spirits can be much more intrusive than pure good spirits. For this reason direction can be the key to staying on the right path.

I think it depends on what you mean. Do you mean studying something like the Kabbalah in ancient Craft Masonry? If so, then you’ll surely get no spiritual profit from it; that’s obfuscatory and can lead you down paths that you’d rather not go down. Stay away for the sake of your spiritual well-being.

Or do you mean something along the lines of correlating religion with elementary plane geometry so as to become a better math teacher? Now there might be some profit to that. It all depends, I think, on your definitions and your motives.

If this were true, why would there even be any hidden or forbidden knowledge?

Since the church condemns it, that means, it is something that is possible to do and find and/or learn…so, why would learning of any kind of knowledge be forbidden?
