Sacred Heart badge

I have been carrying a Sacred Heart badge for many years. I never read the words written around the edge of the badge. Recently a friend saw the badge and asked me what the words mean. Cease The Heart of Jesus is with me.
Help me with an explanation. Might it be for the devil to let him know I have the protection of the Sacred Heart with me?

Yes that is a reasonable thought. As well as temptation.

I did some searching, and found out that that was an expression used in the face of temptation. A lovely thought, I must say.
