Today after serving Mass and receiving communion I approached the advent wreath to blow the candles out. I knew that there could still be some particle of the precious body in my mouth as I had not had a drink, though I continued to blow out the candles.
I don’t know if there were any small particles in my mouth or whether they went into the candle but know I fell as though I may have been sacrilegious.

Furthermore one of the altar serves had ink on their hands I asked them if they wanted to wash their hands as I knew they received communion in them. Though I didn’t explain that they should have clean hands to receive communion.

In short have does it sound as though I have in any way caused sacrilege of Our Lords Sacred Body or not?

Many Thanks

No! We can be too scrupulous about these things. No matter how hard we try it isn’t possible to take the proper care of every possible particle.

i sneezed and lost a particle once. Jesus has very big shoulders and understands these things. God Made sneezes and blows…so i think it is okay. If you feel that badly, bring it up in confession and i am sure the priest will tell you an accident is not a sin.
