I always sleep in. It is something i want to stop as it affects my prayer life. Which saint(s) should I ask for intercession concerning this? Any other advice?

First, have you been to your doctor to make sure there is not a medical cause?

Poor sleep, insomnia is a real medical condition.

There are treatments available!

Develop good sleep habits. Do not consume caffeine/stimulants after about noon. Get some exercise in the fresh air every day, but, don’t exercise right before bed. Eat right, drink plenty of fluids during the day. Avoid alcohol in the hours before bed.

Make bedtime a non-negotiable. Go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time every morning.

Make your bedroom a place for sleep, clean and uncluttered, clean sheets, good pillow, best mattress you can afford. Keep it cool in the room. We sleep best when it is below 70 degrees in the room. Dark and cool is best. Use a fan if you need to in order to get that cool breeze.

Bedtime routine the same, brush teeth, etc. Nighttime prayers. Reading is a good way to calm your mind, avoid electronics (if you have an ereader, use the blue light filter). I am particular to audio books. My library offers them for free. I put on a sleep timer and listen to a book, nothing too exciting, but, not too boring either.

Next morning, when you wake up have a routine. Morning prayers, maybe some exercises, then start the day.

I have heard several people say that they ask their guardian angel to help them wake up on time.

Front of the line meaning, Saint Dymphna intercessions have worked better in my prayer life when I sought a doctors opinion and my claims were valid that I had a disorder with resting.

I’m not aware of any saint for oversleeping. But when I have trouble sleeping, I have a double Dymphna with extra shots of Saints Joseph and Vitus followed by an Archangel Gabriel chaser. That puts me right out. 😎

St Therese, the little flower, had a problem with falling to sleep during meditation.

They should speak to their doctor about this. Most people take too much. Best not to give medical advice. Just because it’s available over the counter doesn’t mean it’s safe or used properly.

I found it a little weird my self…that is if you’re talking about the “front of the line”

What a coincidence. I’ve been having a huge problem with oversleeping lately. Luckily my mom is my boss at work, so I haven’t been fired yet.

Call me crazy but I think oversleeping isn’t a problem for people with insomnia.
