Anyhow, whatever St. Francis said, each of us is different, and so is everyone we are preaching to. Remember CCC 25, I think it is? Becoming all things to all men? Sometimes you will need to use words for some people. Ohter times you won’t need words. Some of us are good at using words. Others of us are good at not using words.

I reckon that St Francis was probably just the type who didn’t need to use words and the people he was preaching to didn’t need to hear words. After all, he has had a pretty big impact as he was.

On the other hand, what about St Thomas Aquinas? Totally awesome saint, a man of words.
