Is the Tridentine High Mass at Saint John Cantius a Simple High Mass or a Solemn High Mass?

Simple High Mass unless noted beforehand in the bulletin.

But I generally go to the Low Mass there.

After being out several weeks with surgery and post-surgery on his knees, Fr. Frank Phillips gave a very nice talk today on the MP at the 7:30am Mass.

In October they will be holding a workshop on the Latin Mass and already 70 priests from around the country have signed up for it.

In addition, the Cardinal has had asked the pastor if he could provide the necessary training for priests who have already expressed a desire in learning the Old Rite, to which Fr. Phillips enthusiastically replied in the affirmative. Two of these trainers would actually be going abroad.

Fr. Phillips has also said that there will be no mixing of the Rites. For 18 years the Old and New Rites have been said there without any problem so he doesn’t anticipate anything in the future. Of course, there are more men than women who attend there but who’s noticing? 🙂

By “Simple High Mass”, do you really mean a Missa Cantata?

Yes I meant Missa Cantata. There are various names for a Missa Cantata: Sung Mass, Simple High Mass.

occasionally when in the city i have attended the 7:30 a.m. mass which is a low mass. the other masses are at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. which i have not attended. that is a beautifull church!!!
