So, I am preparing some thank you’s for non-Catholics who brought all sorts of mass surveillance to light, and fortunately stopped “some” policies. I would like to add a patron saint of whistleblowers because it may be helpful. Snitching is not the same as Whistleblowing so I don’t want that information (as we all well know that snitches can be wrong more often then right in their alarmism).

Some Saints are Martyrs, following the example of “The Lamb.” I’m guessing that someone who puts themselves in harms way to show people the harm coming toward them is defined as a whistleblower. Is there a specific Patron Saint of these persons or just simply martyrdom?

A Scottish nun turning in an Irish priest, oy vey!

That is some crazy stuff right there, explains a ton about the world we live in today! I was thinking in terms of like, someone who threw themselves in front of a locomotive to explain to a continent of people new to the concept what happens when you stand in front of a locomotive.

St. Maximilian Kolbe

Offered himself during the holocaust.

Beautiful, as far as I know he is the go-to Saint for addiction though, maybe they should call him both

Saints are frequently patrons of more than one thing. And one thing can have more than one patron saint.

I don’t think there is an “official” saint of whistleblowers, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find a saint who resonates with that and pray for their intercession in that regard.

Yes. Saint Kolbe has many patronages as I have just checked, amateur radio is totally awesome. I think maybe he has so many they were not sure if it’s a good idea. For Whistleblowing, he fits the bill for me I think at least temporarily. Thanks guys 🙂
