I was researching some family history for a trip I took recently and came across some information which put me in the family of a saint, St. Fillan who lived in the 700s. The information I was able to find led me to believe that I was either a direct decendent of this saint or more likely of his brother. I though it was rather neat and I was able to visit the areas he lived.
I was wondering how many others have saints in their family histories.

My last name is Stuart. Stuart is taken from the Scottish Stewart, in which the Stewart tribe was fairly big. Well, someone in the Stewart tribe committed murder and was exiled to France, where the Stuart spelling was adopted (it does look and sound more French). Years later, the Stuart clan emigrated back to Scotland. From here, I am not sure how they arrived in America.

So, no, no saints, I am descended from murderers and gypsies.

(I am parodying the Frasier episode when they thought they were descended from Russian royality but turned out they were descended from prostitutes and theives, LOL)

I seen that episode but we won’t hold the sins of the fathers against you.
Good thing because we have a few cads in our history as well. Most of which were from the Scottish line coincidently.
