In evangelizing Protestants in just everyday talk, what saints or apparitions would be the easiest for them to accept with an open heart?

Though not canonized yet (he is beatified), Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman is a very interesting figure. Originally an Anglican priest, he set out to show why the Church was in error, so he started researching but came to the conclusion that in the Church, doctrine developed over time, rather than being novel introductions or corruptions; they were “the natural and beneficial consequences of reason working on the original revealed truth to draw out consequences that were not obvious at first.” (Quote from here.)

So this is an interesting conversion story of someone who started out as Protestant/Anglican, but using reason and a rational approach to the development of doctrine, came to be convinced of the truth of the Catholic Church, and ended up converting.

Speaking as a Protestant (of course, we are a diverse lot), I think you’d have better luck explaining what a saint is and what “praying to the saints” means than saying, “Look, here’s this neat saint or really cool apparition.”
