Question are Salvation and Eternal Life separate?
Can you be saved but not receive eternal life?

What does the Church teach on this?
Sources please?

Eternal life means, that we do not die when we pass from this life, but our souls go on living, awaiting the day of the resurrection of the body when the final judgement takes place.

Where we spend our “Eternal life” depends on how we lived. As is written in the Bible.
Salvation is not an event. Rather is like a race, at the of which we are either winners or a loosers.
If I ran well and find myself a winner Heaven awaits.

If i did not run it well and find myself a looser, then Hell is my final destination.

There is an intermediate place were one who ran the race, not perfectly but gets to the finish line and therefore Heaven IS the final destination, but needs to be fixed up, before entering into it.
This, Catholics call “Purgatory”

As you see in all scenarios the soul has “eternal life” WHERE that Eternal life is spent depends on us.
