At Abtei Mariawald (trappist) they sing Salve Regina at Completorium even though it’s Lent. What do the liturgical books say about it?

They use the Salve Regina year round at Compline. They also have their own version, a variation on the solemn tone. They don’t use the simple tone.

They have their own approved variations, some of which they share with Benedictines including the original Benedictine schema. It is up to each individual community to decide which one to use.you just don’t talk with him unless you really have to.
