I’ve heard that the Torah which modern-day Samaritans use in their worship is in fact closer to the Greek Septuagint version than the Masoretic text used by Jews today.

Anyone else hear about this?

According to wikipedia:

It is claimed that there are significant differences between the Hebrew and the Samaritan versions in the readings of many sentences. In about two thousand out of the six thousand instances in which the Samaritan and the Jewish texts (Masoretic text) differ, the Septuagint (LXX) agrees with the Samaritan.

One site does a review of the Samaritan Torah, detailing differences by category.
