August Ambrose didn’t have to repeat posts…

Re: this contention. Once one does some real research the truth stands out. It’s spiritual brother/sisterhood! The people contending this are arguably cut from the same cloth as those who claim Jesus was gay for the beloved disciple, Holmes was gay for dear Watson, and Sam was gay for master Frodo :banghead: This reminds me of Dan Brown - some of the Gnostics only taught Mary Magdalene had a special spiritual relationship with Jesus, which moderns have twisted into a sexual relationship.
Ditto!

And more to the point as a question to August Ambrose.

Where did you get the idea that ANYONE in the conversation here was advocating the idea that there was any Saint who was a sodomizer? This is a thread which seeks to show that pro-gay arguments about the early church are patently false!!!

Frankly, you have not contributed from what I read.

To all, this is an interesting thread, because I have never heard of the debate before.

God Bless,
R.

There’s another thread here that has a critical link on Boswell - I did not know how right I was!
Boswell went so far as to suggest that the imagery describing the “most controversial same-sex couple,” the “Beloved Apostle” John and Jesus Christ, “was intimate, if not erotic (9).” He also implied absurd libidinous relationships between Ss. Peter and Paul, Ss Perpetua and Felicitas, and Ss. Serge and Bacchus (two Roman soldiers and popular martyrs of the early Eastern Church.)
